Nowadays NFTs are all over the news, but despite the hype, very few people know where to buy/sell NFTs. NFT is a one-of-a-kind digital asset, just like Mona Lisa painting they are also unique and are stored on blockchain technology. If you are not aware of the fact that, NFTs can be sold for hundreds and thousands of dollars. People such as Logan Paul and Grimes have made millions by selling NFTs for instance CryptoPunks, Beeple, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, etc. However, before jumping to the conclusion, let’s first explore the top 5 marketplaces where one can buy/sell NFTs

1 OpenSea

OpenSea is one of the largest NFT marketplaces, where users can buy/sell NFTs. It is compatible with Ethereum, Polygon, Klaytn Blockchain. On OpenSea you can browse through more than 34 million NFTs which comprise various categories such as collectibles, games, art, etc.

To signup on OpenSea, you need an Ethereum based wallet such as Metamask, Coinbase, Formatic wallet, etc., and need to pay a signup fee. Many NFT platforms ask for a gas fee upfront. A gas fee is the cost of validating transactions on a blockchain network.

But, Opensea allows users to mint NFT for free since NFT isn’t transferred to the blockchain until the purchase is made. This means you can turn a digital file into an NFT without putting it on the blockchain. Once the purchase is made by someone you have to pay the gas fees. Moreover, OpenSea also asks for a 2.5% cut after the NFT has been sold.

2 Rarible

Rarible is another leading NFT marketplace after Opensea. It allows users to put NFTs of different categories such as music, art, photography, metaverse, gaming, etc. For signing up on Rarible you need an Ethereum based wallet.

On Rarible you will find some NFTs that are put on sale for a fixed price, and others are put on auction. The best feature of this platform is that it allows users to earn royalties whenever the NFT is sold. Just like other marketplaces, Rarible charges a 5% cut on every sale and splits it equally between buyer and seller.

3 SuperRare

SuperRare is a peer-to-peer digital art marketplace that connects collectors and artists. It is an exclusive marketplace for artists. Although it is in the early stages, it has attracted a lot of artists yet. SuperRare accepts only Eth and keeps a 15% cut on each sale. If you want to join SuperRare, you have to first submit your profile under review. SuperRare will evaluate your profile on certain metrics.

4 Mintable

Mintable is also known as a gasless NFT marketplace, where it allows users to mint NFT in the form of audio, memes, and video files. It is based on Ethereum and Zilliqa blockchain. Every time you buy an NFT from Mintable, the platform awards users with a MINT token in return.
